Activity Report September 2024
Date:2024.10.24

Thanks to everyone’s support, we have been able to continue providing school meal assistance in both the northern and southern regions throughout September 2024. We are pleased to share a report on these activities below.

Northern Mzimba District

Kazengo Primary School

The children were overjoyed to return to school after the long summer break. There was especially noticeable excitement on the first day back, September 16th.

Kabuku Primary School

Thanks to the “Likuni Phala” (a meal provided as part of the school feeding program), the students at Kabuku Primary School are full of energy as they return to their studies after the long break.

Kaphuta Primary School

School meals not only keep children energized but also promote social interaction. During meal breaks, children engage in discussions on various topics, expanding their knowledge and social skills.

Matewu Primary School

“The students’ health has improved, and the number of children falling ill has decreased. Thanks to the porridge, they get the nutrition they need throughout the day,” said a nutrition teacher at Matewu Primary School.

Chamngulube Primary School
“I’m happy to be back at school after the long break, and I look forward to studying while enjoying delicious meals,” shared Moria, a 7th-grade student.
“We missed providing meals to the children every day. Now that school has resumed, I’m thrilled to see their smiles again, thanks to Seibo,” expressed a volunteer cook.

Kazomba Primary School
A day that begins with a hot meal is highly productive. The porridge greatly boosts the children’s motivation, resulting in higher attendance and active participation in class.

Southern Blantyre District

Holy Cross Kindergarten
According to the teachers at Holy Cross Kindergarten, the provision of school meals has led to an increase in enrollments. Many parents decide to enroll their children after confirming that meals are provided. Supported children consistently attend school, and parents value the meals enough to ensure their children attend regularly.

Sulema Kindergarten
After eating porridge, the children become more active, and their participation in class increases. The teachers are pleased that this has captured the interest of parents and is helping to promote new enrollments.

Tivwirane Kindergarten
Children under five eagerly look forward to the porridge meals. The hand-washing routine before meals is another highlight, spreading joy throughout the school.

Tiyamike CBCC
The children cheer with joy when meals are prepared. This excitement reflects the food insecurity they face at home. For many children, school meals represent a source of hope. Firewood is now distributed to each school, alleviating the challenges in preparing meals due to a shortage of firewood.

Chilingani CBCC
According to the cooking staff at Chilingani CBCC, preparing meals for the children is an essential role. The children are happy just watching the cooking process.
