This is the report on school feeding support in 2024.
Northern Mzimba District First, we introduce the status of school feeding support in northern Mzimba. Seibo implements support for primary schools in the north, taking responsibility for providing school feeding support to schools where infrastructure has been developed by other NGOs or the government.
Kaphuta Primary School Next, we present statements from those receiving school feeding support: “Seibo’s school feeding program has helped reduce social disparities among studying children, such as differences in socio-economic status. During meal times, all children eat the same food, eliminating envy of others’ meals. Issues like stress or distrust due to comparison with other students are being overcome, allowing children to concentrate on their studies with peace of mind.” (SHN Officer at Kaphuta Primary School)
A likuniPhala tasting event was held at Kaphuta Primary School on July 22nd to select the best company among Rab’s, ETG, and Mint&Honey, which provide likuniPhala (a porridge made from maize flour) for school meals, based on cooking time, color, thickness, and taste evaluation.

Chamngulube Primary School
“What motivates me to prepare meals daily at Chamngulube Primary School is the happiness brought by this school feeding program. Happiness includes seeing smiles on the faces of children receiving meals and witnessing their improved health. The happiness brought by school meals makes children stronger and healthier. In our impoverished community, most children rely on Seibo’s school feeding program for their daily sustenance. Representing the entire community, I hope Seibo continues to provide healthy meals.”

Kanyerere Primary School
“Seibo’s school meals actively encourage children to participate in classes at Kanyerere. As a teacher, having a lively and attentive classroom motivates me to deliver more to the children. The quality of education at Kanyerere Primary School has improved through enjoyable interactions with the children.”

Chabere Primary School
“Chabere Primary School has recorded increased attendance among students since Seibo’s school feeding program was established. The greatest contribution has been the improvement in the attendance rate of girls. In rural communities, girls tend to drop out of school early, but the school feeding program keeps them in school, enabling many female students to graduate from primary school. This is a remarkable development for the Chabere community, and we hope Seibo continues this great work.” (Member of the School Education Committee at Chabere Primary School)
Blantyre District
In Blantyre, located in southern Malawi, Seibo also supports Community-Based Childcare Centers (CBCCs) and kindergartens, unlike in the north. Southern Malawi has kindergarten systems and is also a place where the high infant mortality rate is easily understood when the situation worsens. It is also a place where school feeding is an important factor in the early development of children.
The rise in the price of maize (a type of grain) has led to even more families going hungry, but Katondo CBCC receives porridge every month, which serves as a crucial lifeline. The school committee and community members are grateful for Seibo’s continued efforts to support the children.

Some children in Tawina are orphans living with relatives. However, given Malawi’s harsh economic conditions, even finding piecework is difficult, making it hard for these relatives to secure a stable income. As a result, the children rely on the school meals provided by Seibo.
Members of the Kachimera Primary School committee built a playground as part of their efforts to attract more children to school and enrich their educational experience. They also prioritize the health and well-being of the children by ensuring a clean and sanitary environment.
The new playground at Kachimera Primary School encourages learning through play, enabling children to absorb and understand educational concepts more effectively through physical activity. By linking play with meals, children can have a more enjoyable and interactive learning experience.
Seibo’s meal program provides more than just food—it also brings smiles and a love for learning. Education is an adventure, and the children are always eager to learn, for which they are grateful to Seibo.
Watipa Primary School promotes hand hygiene with soap donated by Seibo to support the health and welfare of the children.
“We are grateful for Seibo’s kindness and unwavering support.” (Omega, Director of Watipa Primary School)
“As the cook at Atamandike 2, I have greatly benefited from this meal program. I can’t afford school fees, but my 3-year-old child always comes with me to school when I cook, attends classes, and eats nutritious porridge.”

“Interview with Parents of the Children”
My name is Grace. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Seibo for supporting my son Mphatso and my entire family. As Mphatso enters primary school, I see him growing remarkably and becoming smarter every day. In addition to receiving an education, he also benefits from the nutritious porridge that supports his health. Seibo’s aid has helped us during tough times. I pray for Seibo to be blessed and able to help others just as they have helped us. While Mphatso attended Tikwere Nursery School, I attended middle school and was able to pass the JCE (Junior Certificate Examination) to advance to high school.
My name is Judith, and I am Favour’s mother. I am excited that Favour is ready to graduate from Tikwere Nursery School and enter primary school. I am grateful to Seibo for the free education, nutritious meals, and other essential resources provided to Favour. As a single mother, I have faced many challenges, but Seibo’s support allows me to work for my family while Favour is at school. Favour has made tremendous progress, mastering skills such as reciting the alphabet, counting from 1 to 100, reading, writing, and interacting with friends. I am confident that she is well-prepared for primary school and academically gifted. I appreciate Seibo’s invaluable support and investment in Favour’s future.
