On December 7, 2024, an event hosted by “Machi Labo” was held at Bunkyo Gakuin University, where the NPO Seibo organized a coffee sale and workshop.
The workshop involved an activity where participants upcycled coffee grounds to create pincushions. University student volunteers led the activity with care, introducing Malawi while guiding participants. The children who joined appeared to enjoy the experience! Additionally, international interns participated, making the event a platform for cultural exchange and fostering connections with various countries through Seibo.
During the workshop, participants learned about coffee production using a model of a coffee cherry. This model provided a clear explanation of the production process of Malawi coffee, including roasting and distribution, and highlighted the people involved at each stage.
Finally, participants decorated and attached original labels to Seibo’s drip coffee bags, which they could take home. We hope this experience became both a cherished memory and an educational opportunity!
