On April 3, 2016, students from Salesian Academy High School, along with students from two other high schools, visited Ataka Trading Co., Ltd., our importer of Malawi coffee. During this visit, they had the opportunity to conduct numerous interviews and learn valuable insights. They gained understanding of business operations, the intent behind partnering with NGOs, market fluctuations, and most importantly, Mr. Araki’s passion for the coffee business.
Here are some impressions from Salesian Academy students:
“We hope to utilize what we have learned to contribute to Malawi through increased sales via effective PR strategies in the future.” (Second-year student)
“The experience of initiating trade with Malawi left a lasting impression. Visiting Ataka Trading greatly enriched my knowledge of coffee and tea. Thank you to everyone at Ataka Trading, Warm Hearts Coffee Club, and all who welcomed us.” (First-year student)
“We heard from President Araki about why Ataka Trading continues to offer delicious coffee to its customers and the secrets to consistently supplying high-quality coffee beans. Through the Macosy Project (Salesian Academy’s unique project), I learned what we should focus on in future PR efforts. It was a very enriching experience. I hope to use this opportunity to develop new perspectives on various social issues and continue to strive harder.” (Second-year student)
