The NPO Seibo attended the All-Sophians Christmas event held at Sophia University on December 15, 2024.
This year, we collaborated with high school students from Seijo Joseph Gakuen, a private school in Kanagawa Prefecture.
We’ve documented the reflections of the participating students on their learning experience and would like to share them with you!
[From a second-year high school student participant]
In the Seijo Joseph Gakuen IL Course (Inquiry-Based Learning Course), we have been engaged in activities to promote fair trade.
By revisiting the sales activities of fair trade products conducted by other groups in the past and conducting preliminary research on fair trade during the summer vacation, we gained a renewed understanding of its challenges and importance.
This time, with the cooperation of Seibo Japan, we sold fair trade coffee at the Christmas event held at Sophia University, with proceeds going toward donations!
Additionally, as part of our preliminary research, we interviewed an intern from Australia, learning about the state of fair trade in that country.
On December 23 and 24, we will also sell collaborative coffee with Seibo Japan at the terrace of Grand Plaza Narita Hotel. We warmly invite you to visit us!
Through these activities, we found that putting what we learn at school into practice at a university setting provides significant learning opportunities for students.
It was a valuable experience to engage in mission-school activities during the Christmas season, which is an ideal time for support-based initiatives.
We sincerely look forward to your continued support.
