Seibo Gets Social Products Award
Date:2024.04.02

NPO Seibo has received the Social Products Award for its Warm Hearts Coffee Club, a brand that offers Malawian coffee to support school meal programs in Malawi, Africa. The Social Products Award (SPA) is the first of its kind in Japan, recognizing outstanding social products that contribute to a sustainable society by evaluating both their social impact and product quality.

Moving forward, NPO Seibo will continue to promote fair trade and the development of social business. The organization aims to create products that connect education, actual production sites, and the future of producing countries.

Since 2016, NPO Seibo has been providing meal support in Malawi, currently serving daily meals to about 17,000 children in kindergartens in the southern region and elementary schools in the northern region. Malawian school meals, which cost around 15 yen per meal, provide children with the opportunity to attend school and improve the quality of their education, leading to significant long-term impacts on their future careers.

Supporting school meals for children in Africa, who will sustain the world’s population in the future, has a substantial global impact. The social contribution made through meal support was recognized, leading to this award.

Additionally, Seibo’s fair trade certification ensures returns to local communities, while its partnership with Ataka Trading Co., Ltd. facilitates ongoing collaboration with production sites. Moreover, its work with domestic educational institutions and businesses promotes SDGs, ethical consumption, and education rooted in practical application.

Social Products Award(SPA)
