Makoto Yamada, representative of the nonprofit organization Seibo, visited the convent of Caritas Sisters of Jesus in Kamekawa, Oita Prefecture, from August 17 to 18, 2024, and gave a lecture. The theme of the lecture was “Ecological Economy” with a focus on “collaboration”. He spoke about the significance of collaboration among nonprofits, supporting companies, schools involved in these activities, all working together on the same social issues.
Furthermore, within the convent, there are individuals working in kindergartens, elderly care facilities, other social welfare institutions, and schools. Mr. Yamada believes it was a valuable time to deepen dialogue with these collaborators, each experiencing their respective fields.
As a concrete example of collaboration, Mr. Yamada shared activities such as using coffee in schools through Seibo’s initiatives and the current situation of meal support in Malawi.
Looking ahead, he hopes to continue collaborating with many people, adapting to changing times and finding new ways to engage in activities.
