On December 6th, I had the opportunity to give a lecture at my alma mater, Seibi Gakuen Elementary School. The lecture was aimed at fourth graders, and I talked about the importance of school meals in Malawi, helping to expand their understanding of a distant country like Africa.
The event was very lively, and during the Q&A session, around 30 students asked questions! I compiled the questions that I couldn’t answer during the lesson in a document here and provided it to them later.
Some high school students from the Salesian International School, who volunteer with Seibo, also participated, and it was memorable to speak together as graduates of Seibi Elementary School.
After the lesson, the students provided us with thank-you letters like the one shown below!
I believe that the video I had previously provided as an assignment on basic poverty-related content left a good impression.
Seibo is also conducting international understanding lessons in elementary schools. Please check out this link for more examples.
