Seibo has been providing meals only to CBCCs (Community-Based Child Care Centers), kindergartens, and nurseries in the southern region of Blantyre.
In September 2023, Seibo had discussions with its partner, the comprehensive education campus, Mary Queen of Peace, and decided to adopt Mother Theresa Children Center and St. Kizito Primary School as Seibo’s distribution schools. At that time, Mother Theresa Children Center had 148 students (71 boys and 77 girls), and St. Kizito had 277 students (158 boys and 119 girls).
With the addition of these two schools, Seibo’s school distribution has changed, with Blantyre having only one primary school alongside nurseries. This brought the total number of schools to 58, with 46 schools in Blantyre and 12 in Mzimba. Subsequently, the two schools received training on how to prepare Likuni Phala, with Seibo’s southern staff member, Mwai, leading the training.
As Mwai became the only Seibo staff member in the southern region, he collaborated with the staff of Mother Teresa Children Center and Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Campus to provide care for the children. We will continue to strengthen our activities in the southern region!
