In October 2023, Seibo attended a meeting with school principals and government officials responsible for nutrition management in the northern Mzimba region, where regular food support is provided. During the meeting, there were opportunities for representatives to present the current status of food support and other related matters.
After the presentation, interviews were conducted by newspaper and radio reporters. Seibo explained the activity goals, strategies for expanding schools, and the afforestation plan to replace the trees used for cooking porridge (the food aid known as Likunipala) in schools. Additionally, Seibo explained the use of rocket stoves, which consume less firewood, and the consideration of providing seedlings to schools, particularly in terms of energy sources, to improve the sustainability of the program.
Seibo’s environmentally friendly approach to food support was appreciated, and once again, it served as a good example for other communities. Through such coverage, Seibo believes it had a good opportunity to convey the importance of its activities to a wider audience.
