Seibo started the Outreach Project at the Mother Teresa Children Center in 2016. They deliver meals to children in the southern mountainous regions through Community-Based Child Care Centers (CBCCs).
In October 2023, Seibo entered into a contract with the Mother Teresa Childcare Centre (MTCC) to assist in monitoring school meals in Blantyre. The reason for this contract was that in Blantyre, one person, Mwai Lemani, was responsible for overseeing 46 schools’ school meal programs, making it difficult for them to manage all schools even twice a month.
The proposal to increase staff for school meal responsibilities in Blantyre was not accepted. Instead, it was recommended that Seibo staff collaborate with MTCC to visit the same schools and communities in the same area and manage schools. Memoranda of understanding were signed outlining each party’s responsibilities, with Seibo managing 15 schools and MTCC managing 31 schools.
While there have been some challenges such as delays in data and report submission and the inability to visit some schools due to workload, the management situation has improved compared to before.
To fully utilize everyone’s support, we will continue to improve management in the future!
